Mackage

Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan, both born in Canada and childhood friends, literally spent their days in school sketching designs and planning their future in fashion. Together they attended design school at LaSalle College in Montreal, and in 2000 Mackage launched its first outerwear line. The name ‘Mackage’ comes from Eran’s niece’s mispronunciation of “maquillage”, the French word for makeup. According to Eran and Elisa, outerwear is an integral element of fashion- a coat isn’t just part of an outfit when the weather turns, it becomes the outfit itself. The design duo is based out of Montreal, but also spend a lot of their time in New York. Mackage has become one of the most prestigious outerwear brands in North America, offering coats with sex appeal and modern edginess. Celebrities such as Halle Berry, Eva Mendes, Frieda Pinto, Jessica Biel, Blake Lively, and the Kardashians, among others, have all worn Mackage outerwear and ready-to-wear collections.
