Nine West

Named after its founding location at 9 West 57th St in New York City, the first Nine West specialty retail store opened in 1983 in Connecticut. Many years later, Nine West is an internationally recognized brand, with over 800 locations in more than 57 countries. Nine West offers runway styled shoes for a fraction of the price, and has expanded into handbags, sunglasses, outerwear, and jewelry, among other avenues. In 2006 Nine West began collaborations with ‘big’ names like Vivienne Westwood, Thakoon, Sophia Kokosalaki, and New Balance, among others. Nine West was one of the first companies to utilize Brazilian expertise in the sphere of leather and shoemaking- this, along with New York City roots, resulted in steps only in the right direction.
