Ted Baker

The Ted Baker brand came into existence in 1987 while Ted himself was fishing. He wanted to create a global brand- the first store opened in Glasgow in 1988. The store became well known as one of the best places to buy contemporary men's shirts. With a focus on quality, attention to detail, and an air of quirkiness- Ted Baker earned the title of “No Ordinary Designer Label” as they provided a laundry service for every shirt sold. Living up to this name in other ways, the Ted Baker brand, from the beginning, has never had an advertising campaign- instead relying on word of mouth and out of the ordinary marketing. Out of the ordinary marketing- as in, giving away Paxo stuffing at Christmas, cans of chocolate bunny hotpots for Easter, and in 2006 special world-cup ‘football’ cards. The Ted Baker team supports the brand in different and ‘fun’ manners- and have done so quite successfully as Ted Baker is one of the fastest growing lifestyle brands in the UK.
