Fendi

1925 marked the beginning of the Fendi fashion house with the establishment of its first handbag shop and fur workshop in Rome. Edoardo and Adele Fendi led the business, and immediately won great acclaim for the quality of their products. The 30s and 40s brought fame from outside of Rome. The five daughters of Edoardo and Adele began working for the business in 1946- they began Fendi’s twenty year collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld. It is at this time that the ‘double F’ is designed and becomes a signature feature. In 2005 Fendi celebrated its eightieth anniversary, and the legacy continues. On October 19th, 2007, at sunset, Fendi was the first fashion house to stage a runway show on the Great Wall of China. Eight being a magical number in China, there were 88 models, 44 from China, 44 from around the world, walking down one of the longest catwalks ever- 88 meters long.
