Guess

The Marciano brothers- Paul, with a fashion vision of American pop culture, and Maurice, with a sixth sense and passion for creativity- left the south of France in pursuit of ‘the American dream’. They established Guess in 1981, and with a clear innovative European influence, entered the denim market. The first department store to welcome Guess was Bloomingdale’s- ordering two-dozen pairs of jeans that disappeared off their shelves in mere hours. This was the first hint of success for Guess, which was to become a symbol of a young, sexy, and adventurous lifestyle. Timeless ad campaigns turned unknown faces into famous models- Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, and Naomi Campbell, to name a few. Today, there are over 1210 stores in over 80 countries across the globe offering a range of apparel and accessories. There is no guessing here, the Marciano brothers did it right.
